What foods to eat to be more tan or how to tan your skin from the inside

Who doesn’t like to show off ‘sun kissed’ skin ? We are fond of tanned skin all year round, but especially in summer, when we have the opportunity to wear looks that allow us to show more skin.

To make it easier for us, the famous have not shared some of their tricks. Paula Echevarría recently showed us what hers is: a skin preparation that hydrates the skin and stimulates the production of melanin . For her part, Blanca Suárez taught us what are the bronzing powders with which she manages to show off her brown face all year round .

Thank you for watching

But if there is something of extreme importance (even more important than showing off tanned skin) is to protect our skin from sun exposure , and you will only achieve that in two ways: protecting your skin inside and out.

You may think that this way you will slow down the tanning process or even not get to get a brunette, but we have good news: these are just myths . By protecting your skin, you avoid burns and keep your skin hydrated, two fundamental conditions to tan more, better, and for longer.

We know that sun exposure has its risks . To avoid them, it is essential that, in addition to limiting the time you spend exposed to the sun’s rays, you protect your skin with creams that block the effects of ultraviolet rays and keep your skin hydrated . With this you can protect your skin from the outside, but how to do it from the inside? We have the answer: with your diet .

In case you did not know, there are certain foods that, due to their nutrients, can accelerate, enhance and prolong your tan . These are foods rich in beta-carotene (organic pigments found in plants and fruits that stimulate the production of melanin in our skin, the pigment responsible for tanning), vitamins C and E , manganese and Omega-3 .

Luckily, there are many foods that meet these properties, so it will not be difficult for you to include them in your weekly diet. In addition, they have the advantage that they are delicious and very easy to find.

This vegetable is rich in beta-carotene, which is why it has such a vivid orange color. In addition, the carrot is rich in antioxidants , thanks to which it contributes to the regeneration of DNA, thus preventing premature cell aging.

Spinach, also rich in carotenoids, contains a high amount of vitamin K , a nutrient that protects the health of your bones and regulates blood flow. It is an excellent ingredient to prepare a rich salad. You can accompany these leaves with goat cheese, walnuts, a delicious vinaigrette sauce and tomatoes, another of the foods that will help you enhance your tan as we will tell you below.

The intense red color of tomatoes gives us a clue about their high beta-carotene content . This fruit is also rich in vitamins A, B6, C and K. It also contains folic acid, magnesium, manganese and a lot (a lot) of fiber. It is an excellent food for the summer and, thanks to its versatility, you can include it in any meal.

Red pepper

We have already told you that vitamin C is a star nutrient when it comes to enhancing tanning. And, surely, you have thought about the orange, but what you probably did not know is that the red pepper contains even more of this vitamin.

This vegetable has antioxidant properties and stimulates the production of collagen . The result of including this food in your diet is a more elastic and resistant skin, a skin perfectly protected against the effects of the sun.
