There are many paths to a sunless tan. You may even be able to combine different types of self-tanners depending on the part of the body where it is to be applied. For example, use a spray for the back and face and a cream for the legs and arms.

According to the mode of application , they can be divided into:

  • Self-tanning moisturizers : These types of self-tanners have a lower concentration of dihydroxyacetone (DHA), the active ingredient in self-tanners. It is ideal for novice people who want to tan, because of its easy application and because it only gives a soft touch of color.
  • Self-Tanning Wipes : These are pre-soaked with self-tanner and to apply, simply spread and swipe over skin for an even color. They are perfect for those who do not know how to apply self-tanner well, since with this wipe system it is practically impossible to apply too much product in one place more than another.
  • Self-tanning lotions, gels and creams : These formulas are the most messy to apply since you have to wait longer for them to dry before getting dressed. However, they are the type of self-tanners that last the longest and will give a more intense and permanent color. Of course, it should never be applied without gloves.
  • Mousses : These types of self-tanners, in addition to being light and quick-drying, are very easy to apply in layers, so coverage can be created or customized. It is also necessary to apply it with gloves.
  • In spray : they can be used at home with a product already prepared in a bottle or in professional booths where a diffuser is used. They are very fast and comfortable to use, since they dry very quickly, although it is important to know how to apply them correctly. No gloves needed.
  • In oil : it is applied directly and has the advantage that it has an immediate effect; but, if what you are looking for is a lasting tan, it is not the most advisable system.
